“There is no higher power—only those who understand power.”
Where others place their faith in gods, messiahs, or cosmic destiny, the Psionic Orders place their faith in mastery.
They do not worship.
They do not kneel.
They study.
Across the galaxy, countless Psionic Orders exist—independent institutions devoted to the understanding and control of Affinity, the fundamental force that binds reality together. There is no single temple, no unified doctrine, no central authority. Each Order operates as its own enclave of knowledge, its own interpretation of what power is and how it should be used.
Some are austere and disciplined.
Others are experimental and reckless.
All are dangerous.
To the Psionic Orders, gods are not divine.
They are misunderstood practitioners.
The miracles of the Elders, the transformations of the Draconics, even the horrors of Dwethia itself—these are not sacred phenomena, but expressions of Affinity at scales not yet fully understood.
Where others see divinity, Psions see technique.
Where others see fate, Psions see mechanism.
They reject prophecy.
They reject destiny.
They reject the notion that anything exists beyond understanding.
If something can be done, it can be learned.
If it can be learned, it can be mastered.
Each Psionic Order functions much like a great college—vast halls of study filled with libraries, archives, and training grounds where initiates learn to perceive and manipulate Affinity.
They are known by many names across the galaxy:
Magus within the Empire of Sol
Revenants among the Citadel
Wise Ones within the Bloodpact
Despite these titles, they are all students of the same force.
Their teachings vary wildly. Some emphasize discipline and control, others experimentation and expansion. Rivalries between Orders are common, and in some regions, these rivalries have escalated into open conflict—entire sectors becoming battlegrounds for competing philosophies of power.
To them, this is not heresy.
It is progress.
At times and Enclave must call upon their own guardians.
These are known as Psions.
A Psion is not merely a scholar—they are a weapon.
Through rigorous training and profound understanding, they channel Affinity directly through their bodies, enhancing speed, strength, perception, and will. They move faster than most can comprehend, strike with impossible precision, and bend the battlefield itself to their advantage.
Blade and mind become one.
To face a Psion is to face a being who has rewritten the limits of what a mortal can do.
It is said that a single Psion is worth a hundred soldiers.
And in many cases, this is not an exaggeration.
Though often perceived as detached from politics, the Psionic Orders are deeply embedded within the power structures of the galaxy.
They train specialists for every major faction, shaping leaders, advisors, and elite operatives. Yet when necessary, they act independently.
Psions are frequently dispatched on:
Covert missions
Diplomatic interventions
Investigations where neutrality is required
They are trusted not because they are moral—
But because they are calculating.
The Psionic Orders claim to stand apart from the conflicts of the galaxy.
This is not entirely true.
Behind their libraries and lecture halls, many Grandmasters pursue their own ambitions—seeking influence, dominance, and the expansion of their respective Orders. Alliances are formed, rivalries deepen, and in some regions, full-scale wars are fought not between empires, but between schools of thought.
To an outsider, the Orders appear neutral.
To those within them, it is clear:
They are competing to define what power means.
For all their knowledge, for all their strength, the Psionic Orders share a blind spot.
They believe that nothing exists beyond understanding.
That no force lies outside the reach of Affinity.
That given enough time, enough study, enough will—everything can be mastered.
And within the boundaries of this universe…
They are almost correct.
To walk the path of the Psions is to reject all external authority.
No gods.
No messiahs.
No final truths.
Only the self—and the power one is capable of wielding.
It is a path of freedom.
A path of ambition.
A path of relentless pursuit.
And for those who walk it to its end…
A path that leads not to enlightenment—
But to the quiet, unshakable belief that you have already become what others would call divine.
