In the galaxy, power is defined by allegiance. Choose from the rigid, imperialistic Empire of Sol, devoted to restoring the glory of the Emperor; the chaotic Eldritch Cult, obsessed with cosmic horrors and dark powers beyond the stars; or the rebellious Bloodpact Anarchists, fighting for freedom and self-governance on every world. Whether you seek to rule through order, chaos, or rebellion, the factions offer diverse paths to power. The galaxy’s future is yours to shape.
While each player must choose a faction in Wonders of Dwethia, it is worth noting that each faction is comprised on many similar banners, warbands, or movements aligned with that cause. The Empire of Sol has long been shattered and their emperor long gone, The Citadel hasn't been unified since the Day War Said Hello, and the remaining factions are fridge cults and anarchists. Players are free to customize their fighting force however they see fit!
"We must prepare for His Return."
Once loyal to Emperor Zephon and bound by the Prophecy of his return, the Empire of Sol is a powerful imperialistic faction built on order, strength, and a desire for conquest. Strong in its Terran roots and full of awe for the Old Ones, the Empire believes that a return to imperial rule is the key to restoring their lost glory. Though they are rigid in their hierarchy, all races are welcome within their ranks—provided they adhere to the Empire's unwavering laws and prove to be good custodians until his return.
"Law and Order to the Galaxy!"
A remnant of the once-great United Solar Systems of the Galactic Council, the Citadel stands as a beacon of order, discipline, and unity. Highly regimented and communistic in structure, they believe in the iron rule of law and the strict regulation of society. Their vast network spans countless planets, ensuring that each world is governed under the same rigid code. Their goal is to maintain peace and stability, though at the cost of individual freedoms.
"Freedom for all!"
The Bloodpact Anarchists are rebels, revolutionaries, and warriors of freedom. They seek to overthrow the influence of the Old Ones and restore the galaxy to its former ways, before the rise of the United Solar Systems Galactic Council. Their mantra is simple: freedom for all, and the right to self-governance. They fight against all forms of imperialism and tyranny, hoping to create a galaxy where every planet can govern itself without interference.
"No one knows what wonders Dwethia holds!"
A group of anarchists and zealots, the Eldritch Cult is obsessed with the unknown cosmic horrors and eldritch gods that lurk beyond the fabric of reality. They wield strange and unpredictable magical powers, worshiping the forces from realms beyond the stars. Their chaotic nature and fascination with the forbidden have earned them the disdain of many, but the Cult’s devotion to the ancient, cosmic unknown remains unwavering.
"All must fade."
The Champions of the Void embrace nihilism, worshipping "the Dark," a sentient antimatter force that destroyed the Essentia. Driven by the belief that all things must return to nothingness, they seek the destruction of all life, hoping for the galaxy to be consumed by the Reanimator Virus. Their goal is simple: to usher in an age of nothingness, where all existence fades into oblivion.
"Laws are for breaking, and coin is for making."
A pirate faction, the Blacksun Traders are opportunistic anarchists who live for chaos and wealth. They are the only faction in the galaxy to use forbidden firearms and projectile weaponry. Their fleets are notorious for raiding, looting, and trading in the most dangerous and illegal goods, making them both feared and sought after in the underworld of the galaxy. For them, coin is king, and the laws of the galaxy are made to be broken.
